The treaties are to be ratified by parliament. Support for them is not, however, sure. Besides the opposition, also some government coalition deputies are opposed to the radar. More than two thirds of Czechs do not want the radar on Czech soil according to public opinion polls. The U.S. anti-missile shield in central Europe is fundamentally resented by Russia.
