British energy giant BP says the chief of its Russian venture has left the country because of harassment.
Robert Dudley, the head of TNK-BP, is to run the company temporarily from outside Russia amid uncertainties surrounding the status of his work visa. The move signals a new escalation in the dispute between TNK-BP's Russian and British shareholders. Russian shareholders are demanding Dudley resign, accusing him of poor performance and favouritism towards BP. The British investors accuse their Russian partners of trying to wrest control of the equally split joint venture.
