Charter flights between China and Taiwan have resumed for the first time in nearly 60 years.
A China Southern airlines flight landed in Taiwan from China on Friday as a signal of an improvement in relations between the two political rivals. Regular services were suspended in 1949 when defeated Nationalist forces fled to Taiwan after the Chinese civil war. Western media 'demonises' China ... As many as 3,000 Chinese tourists are expected to visit Taiwan a day. China claims sovereignty over self-ruled Taiwan and has vowed to bring the island under its rule, by force if necessary.
